Phase 1: Valuation of Property and Identify the Potential For Property Tax Savings
MDI collects information from you to begin the valuation process. This information will include the last two years of operating history, a current rent roll, pictures of the property, any loss of income information, and a copy of your current tax bill.
Phase 2: Appeal of Assessment- 1st Level
MDI files all the necessary paperwork and data on your behalf to the appropriate assessor office. MDI then systematically tracks the overall status of the process and throughout this period negotiates directly with the assessor.
Phase 3: Formal Appeals Hearing- 2nd Level
If unsatisfied with the 1st level results, MDI files to the appeals board and provides the evidence through expert testimony. The overall appeal process takes up to 12-18 months to complete for each tax year.
Phase 4: Formal Court Appeal- 3rd Level
Appeals to the local jurisdiction tax court is the final level to seek tax relief.
